What if my result is borderline — just at or slightly above 1.5× HL?
A result at or very close to the 1.5× HL threshold (e.g., 1.48× or 1.52×) is automatically handled by the two-test confirmatory protocol. Yenos runs a second independent analysis on the same sample. If the second test confirms an elevation above 1.5×, the result is reported as Elevated. If the second test falls below 1.5×, the result is re-evaluated — a marginally borderline result that is not consistently reproduced may be reported as a borderline result requiring repeat testing in 3–6 months rather than a definitive Elevated result. The physician consultation accompanying any borderline or Elevated result will help determine whether immediate follow-up is warranted or whether a watchful waiting repeat test is appropriate.
