Who should NOT take the OncuraKit test?

The following groups should NOT take OncuraKit: (1) Pregnant women — placental miRNA secretion can dramatically elevate miRNA levels, potentially producing a falsely elevated cancer result. (2) People currently undergoing active cancer treatment — chemotherapy and radiation cause major disruptions to miRNA expression that make the standard HL threshold inapplicable. (3) People on hormonal therapy — estrogen replacement therapy, testosterone supplementation, and other hormonal agents alter miRNA expression profiles beyond the reference range. Additionally, we recommend caution for: people with active significant infections or high fever (wait until resolved), people who have very recently completed cancer treatment (discuss timing with your oncologist — wait at least 12 months after completing treatment), and people currently using high-dose immunosuppressive therapy (discuss with your physician).
