Who is the scientist behind the Yenos miRNA detection platform?

Dr. Anastassia Kanavarioti is the founder and chief scientist of Yenos Analytical LLC and the inventor of the MinION/Yenos nanopore miRNA detection platform. She earned her PhD from UC Santa Barbara and conducted research at UC Santa Cruz, where she developed expertise in nucleic acid chemistry and single-molecule detection. She has been awarded three NIH SBIR Phase I grants (2018–2020) for cancer detection research and holds three US granted patents plus international patents across eight countries covering the Yenos platform. Her research resulted in four published peer-reviewed studies between 2020 and 2025 establishing the scientific and clinical foundation of the OncuraKit test.
