Is OncuraKit the same as Oxford Nanopore sequencing?

No — OncuraKit uses the MinION device from Oxford Nanopore Technologies as a hardware platform, but the Yenos Analytical protocol is entirely distinct from standard nanopore sequencing. Oxford Nanopore sequencing reads DNA or RNA base sequences by threading strands through nanopores and interpreting the current signal as a sequence readout. The Yenos/MinION platform does not sequence the miRNA. Instead, it uses osmium metalorganic probes that physically tag miRNA molecules and then counts how many tagged molecules thread through the nanopores — producing a quantitative count of specific miRNA molecules rather than a sequence readout. This is a fundamentally different and patented use of the nanopore hardware.
