How consistently are miRNA levels elevated in cancer patients?

In the Yenos clinical validation study published in 2025 (doi:10.3390/ijms26083822), miRNA overexpression above the 1.5× HL threshold was observed in 93.8% of cancer samples for miR-21-5p, 81.5% for miR-375-3p, and 97.3% for miR-141-3p. No healthy sample in the study exceeded the 1.5× HL threshold. These results indicate strong, consistent signal elevation across diverse cancer patients and consistent baseline in healthy individuals — not a variable or unreliable signal. The p-value of 1.6×10⁻²² confirms that this separation is extremely unlikely to be due to chance.
