Should I avoid vitamins or supplements before collecting?
Standard vitamin supplements (multivitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D, B vitamins, fish oil, magnesium, zinc) are not expected to affect your OncuraKit results. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) in high doses can interfere with some urine dipstick tests, but it does not affect RNA-based analysis. However, as a general best practice: avoid mega-dose supplements (greater than 10× the daily recommended value) in the 24 hours before collection. Avoid herbal supplements with known biological activity (curcumin, green tea extract, resveratrol) in high doses for 48 hours before collection as a conservative precaution, since these can modulate inflammatory pathways that affect miR-21. Standard daily supplements at normal doses are fine to continue.
