How do I add the preservation media to my specimen?

The preservation media is included as a small vial in your kit. After collecting your urine in the cup and securing the lid: (1) Shake the preservation media vial gently to ensure it is well-mixed. (2) Open the media vial and pour its entire contents into your sealed collection cup through the lid's port (or unseal, add, and re-seal — follow the specific instructions on your kit's instruction sheet, as the mechanism may vary by kit version). (3) Replace and tighten the lid securely. (4) Gently invert the cup 3–5 times to mix the specimen and media thoroughly. The preservation media is colorless and odorless — once added, you will not see any visible change in the specimen. The mixture is safe to handle with normal precautions.
