Can OncuraKit detect cancer at Stage 0 (carcinoma in situ)?

Stage 0 cancer (carcinoma in situ) refers to abnormal cells that have not yet invaded surrounding tissue — they are pre-invasive and confined to the epithelial layer where they originated. At Stage 0, tumor cells may not yet be shedding sufficient miRNA-containing exosomes into circulation to produce a detectable signal above the 1.5× HL threshold. The Yenos validation studies enrolled Stage I and Stage II patients, not Stage 0. It is theoretically possible that some Stage 0 cancers (particularly larger or more proliferative ones) produce a detectable miRNA signal, but this has not been systematically validated. OncuraKit is currently validated for Stage I/II detection — Stage 0 detection remains an open research question.
