Is OncuraKit covered by health insurance?

At this time, OncuraKit is not covered by major health insurance plans (private insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid). Health insurance coverage for MCED tests requires either FDA approval or inclusion in USPSTF preventive care guidelines — OncuraKit, as a Laboratory Developed Test, has not yet completed the FDA approval process, and USPSTF has not yet issued guidance on miRNA-based MCED testing. However, HSA and FSA funds (which are pre-tax) can be used to pay for OncuraKit, effectively reducing the out-of-pocket cost by your marginal tax rate. We advocate for expanded insurance coverage of proactive cancer screening and continue to build the clinical evidence that payers require to include OncuraKit in their coverage policies.
