Does obesity or BMI affect OncuraKit's accuracy?

Obesity (high BMI) is associated with chronic low-grade systemic inflammation, which in turn can affect miRNA expression — particularly miR-21, which is involved in inflammatory signaling. Some research shows elevated circulating miR-21 in individuals with metabolic syndrome or morbid obesity. However, the degree of elevation in obese but cancer-free individuals is not well-characterized in the context of the Yenos HL threshold. If you are significantly obese (BMI > 40), discuss this with your physician when interpreting your OncuraKit results — a borderline elevation (close to but not dramatically above 1.5× HL) in this context may warrant additional clinical context. The two-test confirmation protocol partially mitigates this concern by requiring a reproducible elevation.
